11/20/2023 0 Comments Ferry blue star paros![]() ![]() I look forward to enjoying our next holiday to Greece with Blue Star Ferries. I couldn't be more pleased with our experience. We slept in comfort for the evening and woke refreshed and ready for our next adventure. Upon our return, we chose to hire a cabin for the night, and we found the facilities were top notch: clean, roomy, many amenities, full en suite bathroom, soft beds and pillows, desks and chairs, space for our luggage, and plenty of light. The ship's crew were mindful of safety as we boarded and disembarked the ship, and they tended to our comfort with personal requests for medicine to help with sea sickness as the waters were a bit rough at one point. Across from the purser's desk, we noticed a "live" map of Greece and the surrounding Aegean Sea, and we watched the red arrow marking our progress on our journey, much like we find in air travel. They were available to answer any questions we had, and were comfortable in speaking English, which was one of our concerns prior to travel. The crew were friendly, professional and helpful. We made use of the WiFi to keep in touch with family and friends, and we spent time walking the different decks and experiencing the gorgeous views of the Aegean Sea. On our journey there, we enjoyed the luxuries of the ship, sampling the cuisine and relaxing in the many lounges available throughout. We travelled from Pireaus to Lipsi and returned to Pireaus the following week. From the island's port ferries depart to Piraeus (Athens) and to the other islands in the Cyclades. My husband and I have recently returned from our holiday in Greece. There are many restaurants located throughout the island serving local produce to the many tourists who visit. The island is also well known for its food and for producing the famous Naxian potatoes, wine, Kitron liquor productions and the popular cheese called Graviera. A visit to Portara is advisable, especially after your swim, whilst the sun is setting. Located on the small island is Portara, which is a monument resembling a door standing alone, without any walls attached to either side. The small island of Palatia, which extends from the mainland of Naxos, is the town's emblem. The town is popular with tourists and as a result there are many bars, restaurants and cafes to cater for them. It is also home to one of the biggest ports in the Aegean Sea. Naxos City, or Chora, is the island's largest town and capital and is built amphitheatrically on the island's west coast. The Greek island of Naxos is part of the Cyclades group of islands that lie in the Aegean Sea. With up to 9 sailings per day, you are bound to find a suitable ferry crossing to suit your needs.
